Our Dance Styles
Ballroom
Ballroom dance is a set of
elegant partner dances
performed socially or
competitively, emphasising
precise technique, posture, and musicality
Latin
Latin dances include lively partner dances like
Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba,
Paso Doble and Jive. Improving hip movement and footwork.
Classical
Classical dancing includes
classical waltz,
gavotte, saunter and two step
featuring elegant, flowing
movements, precise footwork,
and poised partnering to refined music
Sequence
Sequence dance is a ballroom style where couples perform fixed step patterns in unison,
often in a circle or line, to
traditional music.
Meet Amy!
Hello, my name is Amy, and I am thrilled to welcome you to my dance school.
My love for dancing began when I first watched Strictly Come Dancing as a child. That moment sparked my dream of becoming a ballroom and Latin dancer, and by the age of five, I was already taking my first steps on the dance floor.
Over the years, I worked tirelessly and found success in the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), where I became champion more than 20 times in ballroom, Latin, Old Time, and Sequence dancing.
Throughout my career, I also achieved great success in Supdance, where I won the championship with my partner. At 16, I decided to push myself further by entering the open dance circuit, where I achieved an impressive 8th place in the UK in the Under 21’s
category.
Although I loved competing, I realised my true
passion was in teaching. I made the decision to step away from competitions to focus on guiding others in their dance journey.
In 2019, I qualified for my Pre-Associate in teaching and was proud to achieve the highest teaching marks in the country.
In 2024, I became a fully qualified teacher and am now the proud owner of Madd for dance.
I’m incredibly passionate about sharing my
knowledge and experiences with my students, and I aim to inspire them to reach their full potential,
just as I did.
It’s a joy to watch others grow, and I am committed to helping each individual achieve their dance dreams.
